On February 25th, 2014 a New Michelangelo Renaissance Began
The official declaration and ceremonies began with the blessings of "The House of Michelangelo", Casa Buonarroti, the Directors of Casa Buonarroti Foundation along with The Vatican's foundry of choice since 1822, Fonderia Artistica Ferdinando Marinelli (FAFM) that the stewardship of these historically significant Original Bronze casts be fully entrusted to The Welborn Family, who's vision and goals align with Casa Buonarroti to enhance and expand the legacy of Michelangelo. In restricting the editions to twelve (12) Original Bronzes from each of the 28 declared Masters' sculptures the Casa Buonarroti Directors found a balance between keeping the editions quite limited while providing for both discerning collectors and allowing for the opportunity to share the romance, beauty and inspiration of Michelangelo's life works for generations to come.

DECLARATION IN UNITED STATES
A stated goal of Renaissance Masters is to generate the first foundry proofs from posthumous Fonderia Marinelli moulds previously requested for historical preservation that have never been presented to the world as Original Bronze monumental sculptures.
Twenty-eight (28) moulds taken between 1927 to 2008 are in safe-keeping at the Fonderia Artistica Ferdinando Mainelli. Corporate and private sponsors will have the opportunity to participate in a uniquely personal way with the first ever casting of many of the Michelangelo's sculptures.

Not in 500 years has this opportunity presented itself to educate and inspire new generations.
While over the years, a modest few posthumuos original limited editions of the numbered bronzes had been cast to date from the Fonderia Artistica Ferdinando Marinelli moulds, Casa Buonarroti has declared that only total of twelve (12) bronze sculptures may be cast from each of the the 28 declared sculptures of Michelangelos' original master works.
Artist Rights & Authenticity
It is globally understood that an artist and creators rights to their works remain with the artist and extend to their heirs. Even though moulds were requested by various parties beginning as early as 1932, some were requested at times of impending war or challenging political environments, national leaders may have requested them and some were taken as recently as 2008 to insure preservation of the cultural treasures they are recognized to be. The 28 sculptures presented in the Renaissance Masters Collection are in the possession of FAFM who for generations has protected their integrity. FAFM is the only foundry authorized by Casa Buonarroti to make the twelve (12) Original Bronze sculpture editions form these moulds and as such, has retained contract with Universal Global, Inc to fulfill this monumental task.
In 2011 the Italian governing bodies determined no casts are to be made of their sculptural monuments, limiting access to Michelangelo's work even further. In the case of Donatello's John The Baptist, only one bronze had been made beforethe cast was destroyed in the Florence flood
